I’ve always been a big fan of cooking with beer so it’s only natural to include this in my Level 2 Prud’homme Beer Certification. It also happens to be one the most enjoyable classes where participants get to work together to create a fantastic meal - I’m always pleased to see the interaction between all.
The last two classes have been hosted by chef Vanessa Yeung at Aphrodite Cooks (www.aphroditecooks.com). Our meal is always the same for the class and features a French Onion soup paired with Grolsch, a Roquefort salad paired with Hoegaarden, apricot chicken paired with McAuslan’s Apricot Wheat and finally, poached pears with Unibroue’s Trois Pistoles.
Vanessa and I are also hosting an upcoming event. On Saturday, June 9th,we will be holding a beer and food cooking class at Aphrodite’s kitchen on Weston Rd. There’s still lots of space left (20 in total) and we are looking for people to come and have some fun. Vanessa has an amazing 6 course menu prepared and of course, I’ll be bring the beer.
