beer bistro dinner

On Tuesday night, I had the pleasure of hosting a beer dinner for one of my clients.  I chose the beer bistro because of their private dining room in the back as well as I knew the hospitality and quality of food and beer would be exactly what this group needed.

I can tell you that our expectations were delivered in spades.  Jamie, our server did an amazing job (with the help of many others) and the menu was spectacular.  Kudos to Michelle Usprecht, the chef for a perfect evening.

Here’s a quick look at the menu.  I chose two beers for the first course because I wanted to focus on two separate pairing concepts - the Guinness for a contrast and the Schneider for a complement.

Smoked Salmon

White beer blini, house-made goat’s milk cream cheese, fried capers, pea shoots

Schneider Weiss & Guinness

Sunchoke soup with Beer bacon, chives

Aechte Schlenkerle Rauchbier

Roasted Beet Salad

Cayenne candied pecans, arugula, goat cheese, ramp puree

Westmalle Dubbel

Braised Short Ribs

Caramelized chipolini onions, roasted parsnip puree, garlicky fiddleheads, brown ale jus

Kostritzer

Artisanal cheese

Quince compote, cantillon toast, honey

Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee

Chocolate peanut butter cappuccino

Dragon Stout
